
Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Tribes
The Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Tribes is constituted under Rule 275 of Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in Telangana Legislative Assembly.
Composition of the Committee
The Committee consists of eleven Members of whom eight members are nominated by the Speaker from amongst the members of the Assembly and three members are nominated by the Chairman, Legislative Council from amongst the members of the Legislative Council.

Functions of the Committee
The Committee on Welfare of Scheduled Tribes examines the matters concerning welfare of Scheduled Tribes, which fall within the purview of the State Government.
The Committee examines the measures taken by the State Government to secure due representation of the Scheduled Tribes in services and posts under its control with regard to the provision of Articles 16 and 335 of the Constitution.
The Committee reviews the progress and implementation of welfare programmes and other ameliorative measures.
